Multimedia is the presentations of transformations using the combinations of text , sound, picture , video , and animations. That is integration of text graphic , sound , video ,and animations which is use to present and effective and attractive presentations to the audience  common multimedia computer applications are creams , learning software ,references materials,encyclopedia etc.

A multimedia system is a system which is capable of processing multimedia data and applications . It is illustrated y the processing generations and manipulation of multimedia information.

Characteristics of multimedia:

Multimedia has 4 basis characteristics and they are ;-

• It must be computer controlled .
• It is integrated.
• The information handle by such system should be digital .
• The interface of the presentation should be attractive and effective 

Requirement of multimedia 

A   multimedia  system requires contain hardware and software components and some of them are as follows:

a. Capturing devices:

It  consists radio, camera, video recording, audio microphone, keyboard, 3D input  devices, graphic tables etc

b. Store devices:

It consists hard disk, CD's, DVD's, Pen drive etc.

c. Computer system:

It consists internet,  intranet, extra-net, Ethernet ,etc.

d. Computer system:

It consists multimedia desktop machine, machine, multimedia laptops, a workstation etc.

e. Display devices:

It resolution monitors, color printers, flex machine , high quality speakers, woofers etc.

Components of a multimedia

The basic element  or components of a multimedia are text , audience , video graphic and animations:

a. Text:
It is must common led used in computing applications .It includes bath formatted text or   unformulated text to represent electronic , documents. Most multimedia system use the combinations of text and other medias to delivers presentations .

b.Audience:

It includes both fidelity speech such as telephone conversations ad high fidelity high  fidelity sounds such as stories phonic music use in CD’s.

c.Videos:

It includes shorts sequence of moving images such as video clips and complete movies or films .

 d. Image or graphics :

It in includes computer generated image such as lines , circles, picture, etc .

Applications of Multimedia:

Multimedia are used various sectors and some frequently used area are as follows :

a) Educations :

Multimedia are is use in educations sector to produce computer based training (CBT)  courses and reference book such as encyclopedia .Now a days multimedia CD's are available in the market to educations students of different level with entertainment ,which is known as educations. Some CD's are encyclopedia in science , knowledge advice educate .

b) Entertainment and fine art :

Multimedia is used to produce special effect in movies and animations  in entertainments industries . It is also use in video game , which is most popular  media for , re - creation and  plashing leisure time is also available in CD's or online. It is also used to creates cartoon milky mouse , tom and Jerry , motu patlu , ghost  moves ,etc.

c) Commercial :

Multimedia hugely used in commercial sector for creating , exciting , presentations or advertising to grave attention of customer towards there product through which they can enhance there firms .

d)  Engineers :

Software engineers used multimedia in computer simulation for anything from entertainment to training such as military or industries training , software interfaces .

e) Industry :

In the industries sector multimedia is used as a means for presenting information to the     hare holders , supervisor and co - workers. It is also helpful for providing training for       there employers  advertising and selling products all over the world through virtually  unlimited web base technology.

 f) Medical :

In medical sector multimedia is used to train the doctors through a virtue surgery or they can simile the human body and the affect of diseases spreads by virus and bacteria and then develop technique to perform it .

e. Animations :

It is the process of moving images that are displayed in rapid succession, which gives illusion of movement now a days various animations software ware mega,3-D, studio- max ,etc  are available in the market . It includes audio , video , text and graphic .
